About This Building

Supporting Affordable Housing for Rural and Low-Income Californians Advocacy at All Levels of Government Under the banner of the California Coalition for Rural Housing (CCRH), our primary objective is to support the production and preservation of decent, safe, and affordable housing for rural and low-income Californians. We strive to provide a voice for housing issues in legislative and regulatory bodies at the local, state, and federal levels. Assisting Community Groups and Nonprofit Agencies CCRH extends its support beyond just advocacy. We offer technical and organizational assistance to community groups and nonprofit agencies involved in affordable housing initiatives. By working closely with these organizations, we aim to empower them in their efforts to address housing challenges and make a meaningful impact in their communities. Educating the Public on Housing Issues We strongly believe in the power of education. CCRH is committed to raising awareness among the public about the importance of affordable housing. By providing information and resources, we strive to empower individuals and communities to engage in the dialogue surrounding housing issues and advocate for positive change. Preserving Subsidized Rental Units Through our Tenant Organizing and Education programs, CCRH has successfully saved hundreds of subsidized rental units from being converted into market-rate housing. We work closely with tenants to educate them about their rights and provide them with the necessary support and resources to protect their homes. Empowering Culturally Diverse Students CCRH is proud to administer the Rural California Internship Program. This initiative aims to empower culturally and linguistically diverse university students who represent the minority, immigrant, and/or farm worker communities of rural California. Through this program, we provide valuable internship opportunities that help these students gain experience and develop leadership skills for the benefit of their communities. Uniting Supporters through Annual Summit In our ongoing efforts to bring stakeholders together, CCRH organizes the annual Rural Housing Summit. This event provides an invaluable platform for supporters of affordable housing to come together, exchange ideas, and establish a unified legislative and advocacy agenda. By fostering collaboration, we strive to strengthen the collective voice for housing justice in rural California.
