Membership of the Brooksville Housing Authority Board is determined by the Mayor of the City of Brooksville, subject to approval by the City Council, in accordance with F.S. 421.05. This board comprises five voting members and an additional Alternate member. The board recognizes the importance of inclusivity and will make every effort to encourage applications from residents within the housing complex, with the goal of appointing at least two resident members. The primary role of this commission is to make decisions and establish policies, guidelines, and budgets for the comprehensive management, operation, and maintenance of the Housing Authority properties. These responsibilities are governed by Chapter 421, Florida Statutes, as well as relevant state and federal laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to housing projects funded through public sources.
