Housing Assistance Programs for Low Income Residents in Seminole County Programs Offered by Seminole County Housing Authority The Seminole County Housing Authority is dedicated to providing housing assistance to low income residents in the area. They manage two programs: Low Rent Public Housing and the Housing Choice Voucher Program - Section 8. These programs have income-based eligibility requirements that are set by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Possible Waiting List for Housing Assistance Programs Please note that there may be a waiting list for these programs. Due to the overwhelming demand for housing assistance and the length of the waitlists, there are times when the lists may close to new applicants. However, we encourage you to contact the Housing Authority directly for more information about eligibility requirements, availability of assistance, the status of any waiting lists, and their application procedures. The Housing Authority office is available Monday to Thursday from 7:30am to 4:30pm to assist you. Update on Waiting List Status As of the last update in July 2011, the Housing Authority website stated that the waiting list for the Housing Choice Voucher Program - Section 8 was closed, but they were still accepting applications for the Public Housing Community waiting list.
