Housing Assistance Programs at McHenry County Housing Authority Programs for Low-Income Residents At McHenry County Housing Authority, we strive to provide housing assistance to low income residents. We manage various programs that cater to different needs. Our two major programs include the Low Rent Public Housing and the Housing Choice Voucher Program - Section 8. Income-Based Eligibility Guidelines The eligibility for our housing assistance programs is determined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). We adhere to their set guidelines, ensuring fairness and equality for all applicants. Waiting List Information Due to the overwhelming demand for housing assistance, there may be waiting lists for both vouchers and rentals. These waiting lists may be subject to closure when they reach their capacity or have lengthy wait times. However, we do our best to accommodate everyone in need. Contact McHenry County Housing Authority For more information regarding eligibility requirements, availability of rentals or vouchers, waiting list statuses, and application procedures, please contact the Housing Authority directly. Our office hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:30AM to 5:00PM, Wednesday from 8:30AM to 6:00PM, and Friday from 8:30AM to 4:00PM. We are here to assist you in any way we can.
