Providing Affordable Housing in Allegany County, Maryland Achieving Safe and Sanitary Living Conditions At the Housing Authority of Allegany County (HAAC), our mission is to ensure that low and moderate income residents in Allegany County and the surrounding areas have access to safe, decent, and affordable housing. We strive to create living environments that meet the needs of our community while also offering supportive services to elderly residents to enhance their quality of life. Supporting Elderly Residents at Willow Valley Apartments Our focus on preventing premature institutionalism is particularly important for the residents of Willow Valley Apartments. Through our supportive services, we aim to create an environment that promotes independence and well-being for our elderly residents. By offering the assistance they need, we help them maintain their homes and avoid unnecessary moves to institutionalized care. Low Rent Public Housing Assistance HAAC provides housing assistance to low income residents through the management of Low Rent Public Housing. This program is specifically designed for individuals and families whose income falls within the eligibility guidelines set by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Our goal is to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to live in safe and affordable housing regardless of their financial situation. Waiting Lists and Application Procedures Please note that due to the high demand for housing assistance, there may be waiting lists for our rental properties. These lists may occasionally close to new applicants based on the size and length of the wait. If you are in need of housing assistance in the area, we encourage you to contact the Housing Authority directly for more information about eligibility requirements, availability of rentals, the status of waiting lists, and the application procedures.
