Smoke-Free Senior Communities at Village Crossroads I and II Village Crossroads I and II, operated by Catholic Charities Senior Communities, are leading the way as the first smoke-free senior communities. Situated on a spacious 7.4-acre campus, Village Crossroads ensures that all areas, including apartment units, common spaces, and outdoor areas are entirely smoke-free. Affordable Senior Community at Village Crossroads I A pioneer in its field, Village Crossroads I is the first HUD 202 / Low Income Housing Tax Credit mixed finance affordable senior community in Maryland. With a total of 94 units, this community offers 47 tax-credit financed apartment units and 47 HUD-subsidized apartment units, catering to older adults with a wide income range. Eligibility Criteria To qualify for residency, applicants must be 62 years of age or older. For HUD-subsidized units at Village Crossroads I & II, the applicant's income should not exceed the maximum income limit, which is currently set at $30,950 per individual and $35,400 per couple*. Section 8 vouchers are accepted at Village Crossroads I, eliminating the need for a Section 8 voucher. For Tax-Credit units at Village Crossroads I, applicants' income should not exceed the maximum income limit, currently set at $37,140 per individual and $42,480 per couple. Section 8 vouchers are also accepted for these units. Please note that income limits are subject to annual changes. Amenities and Services at Village Crossroads I At Village Crossroads I, residents can enjoy a range of amenities and services. These include a Billiards and Game Lounge, Club Room and Cafe, Creative Arts Studio, and Library and Multimedia Room. Both communities also have Internet Lounges equipped with wireless technology, ensuring free internet access for all residents. The outdoor spaces provide areas for socialization, contemplation, and various activities. Additionally, both communities offer dedicated shuffleboard, horseshoe, and game table areas for residents' enjoyment. Congregate Housing Services Program at Village Crossroads I Village Crossroads I operates the Congregate Housing Services Program, which is certified by the Maryland Department of Aging. This program offers residents daily meals, as well as weekly housekeeping, laundry, and personal services. Moreover, residents have access to service coordination at no additional cost, ensuring they can connect with resources, services, and benefits that enhance their independence and support their living in the apartment setting for as long as possible.
