Office Hours and Contact Information - Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. We take a lunch break from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM each day. - For more information about the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), please contact them at www.hud.gov/local/gre. Housing Department Overview - We are fully funded by federal grants provided by HUD. - Our Housing Department consists of 172 apartments with 1 to 5 bedrooms. - Rent is based on income and includes utilities. Tenants pay the excess if they go over the allotted amount for utilities. - Our apartments are usually occupied, and when one becomes vacant, we select an applicant from our waiting list. - Selection criteria include bedroom size, income range, background rental checks, and criminal record checks. - It may take anywhere from 6 months to 2 years to obtain an apartment based on the specific criteria. - Applications are taken four times a year as needed and must be submitted in person at our office. We do not accept online applications. - Applicants must be 18 years or older. Additional Services - In addition to providing housing, our department offers training assistance in various areas. - Residents can receive training in budgeting, life skills, education, job searching, and preparation for homeownership.
