Mission: Providing Affordable Housing and Services to Low/Moderate Income Families Eligibility and Resident Guidelines: - Income eligibility and resident guidelines must be met to be considered for public housing. - Each applicant's unique circumstances are taken into account during the decision-making process. - Background checks and information from previous landlords are considered. - Head of Household, Co-Head, or Spouse must be eligible and able to obtain required utilities in their name. Waiting List: - All apartments are filled from the waiting list. - Being on the list does not guarantee approval for residency. - Verification process begins as names move closer to the top of the list. - A single waiting list is divided by unit size to determine the next available unit. Finding Your Position on the Waiting List: - Call the main offices at 815-232-4171 extension 1010 to inquire about your position. - It is recommended to call once a month. - If your position changes, the Resident Selection Coordinator will contact you to congratulate and arrange for the second application.
