Supporting Local Non-Profit Agencies in the Hudson Valley The main objective of hands-on! The Hudson Valley is to provide valuable assistance to over 300 local non-profit agencies in the Hudson Valley region. We are dedicated to fostering volunteerism by utilizing various strategies such as leveraging our website, hosting community presentations, forging community partnerships, and collaborating with local media outlets. Once we have successfully recruited volunteers, we conduct interviews to determine their preferences and then match them with suitable non-profit organizations that require their specific skills and expertise. Promoting Volunteering Opportunities in the Community At hands-on! The Hudson Valley, we strongly believe in the power of volunteering to create positive change in the community. Through our dedicated efforts, we aim to raise awareness about volunteering opportunities and encourage individuals to actively engage in community service. By fostering a culture of volunteerism, we empower our community to invest their time, skills, and passion into making a difference. Empowering Advocates for Vulnerable Populations An additional pivotal role of hands-on! The Hudson Valley is to oversee programs that involve passionate volunteers. One notable program is our ombudsman initiative, which focuses on recruiting, training, placing, and supervising volunteers to serve as advocates for individuals residing in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, enriched housing facilities, and family type homes. These volunteers play a crucial role in safeguarding the rights and well-being of vulnerable populations, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
