Total Apartment Units: 84 Number of Low Income Apartments: 84 Number of 1 Bedroom Apartments: 19 Number of 2 Bedroom Apartments: 38 Number of 3 Bedroom Apartments: 27 Years In Service Since: 2014 Family Apartments: YES Affordable Housing Program for Moderate Incomes This affordable housing program is aimed at individuals and families with moderate incomes, offering below market rents for those who qualify. It is important to note that this is not a subsidized housing program, meaning each resident is responsible for paying their full rent amount every month. Rental amounts are determined based on predetermined income limits of the specific geographic area, and not based on individual household income. To be eligible, the total gross income of your household must be below the pre-set income limit for the area. Diverse Residential Unit Mix The apartments cater to households with incomes ranging between 30% and 60% of the area median income (AMI). They consist of one-, two-, and three-bedroom units designed to accommodate the needs of growing and multigenerational families. The architectural design of the buildings, created by San Diego-based Foundation for Form Architects, exudes a unique charm that complements the surrounding neighborhoods and enhances the urban infill location. AMI Calculation AMI is an annual calculation made by HUD, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, to determine the median income of residents in a broad area. Below Market-Rate Rents Monthly rents for these apartments are around 40% lower than market-rate rents for similar units. The dimensions of the apartments vary, with one-bedroom units spanning approximately 545 square feet, two-bedroom units around 830 square feet, and three-bedroom units approximately 1,050 square feet. All apartments are equipped with air conditioning and feature a private deck. Fourteen of the apartments are funded through California's Mental Health Services Act. Important Information Waiting Lists Most low income apartments have waiting lists, and it can take years before you are contacted for an available unit. It is advisable to apply to as many waiting lists as possible to increase your chances. Contacting the Apartments We provide phone numbers and websites for the apartments. If you are interested in any openings or open waiting lists, it is recommended to directly contact the apartments. Apartment Rates Current apartment rates are provided on many listing pages. However, most HUD listings do not have published rates. These rates are typically based on 30% of the renter's gross income. To determine if you qualify for income-based rent, you will need to contact the apartments directly.
